Summary:
Annual Circulars available online cover the years of President L. Clark Seelye's tenure (i.e., from the founding of Smith College in 1872 to the 1909-10 academic year). Pre-1875 issues are an educational prospectus of the college which had not yet begun to enroll students. Subsequent circulars generally include a description of the college's educational mission, a list of faculty, trustees and students, with total numbers of students enrolled in each class; and information about requirements for admission and promotion; curriculum and text books; travel and lodging arrangements; and tuition and other costs.
